Ise Shrine Uji bridge

The bridge across the Isuzu river at the entrance of the inner sanctuary is said to connect the ordinary world and the sacred world. Uji bridge is 101.8m long, 8.4m wide, and is a classical Japanese style arch bridge with 16 giboshi (baluster finial) on the parapets.
