Jupiter is one of the tapestries that make up the "The Planets" series, exhibited in the Tapestries and Liturgical Ornaments Room. Jupiter, bearded, is represented at one end of the tapestry wearing a richly embroidered cloak. Behind him, three independent scenes unfold but are related by the setting. First, there is a naked boy covered with a light toga, squatting and touching his head, which may be a symbol of the future. In contrast to Jupiter, an old man symbolizes the past. The second scene shows a peasant woman sitting on the ground with a child in her arms and another child beside her. Her meaning is the same as the first. The third scene shows a farmer plowing the land, a symbol of procreation. The event takes place in a forest with great vegetation and a sharp depiction of a castle in the background.
