Ode to the Yeongsu-gak Pavilion

An album recording the retired officers’ meeting, produced on 28th August 1765 (Year 41 of Yeongjo). At Yeongsugak pavilion, along with crown prince Jeongjo, retired officers, high dignitaries, King’s father-in-law and families, Yeongjo held a ritual of drinking, and afterwards, bestowed his drinks to them at Giyeonggwan. The first two pages of the album contains Yeongjo’s royal commands, illustrations (pp3-4), an epilogue by a high official Jeongbo Yi (pp5-9), and the list of the seating (pp11-12). According to the list, 8 retired senior officers accompanied Yeongjo on that day, and their names are listed in the order of their rankings, not age.
