Paul Edmunds was a Social Fabric artist-in-residence exploring felt. One reason why he was selected is because of Paul's interest in the overlooked. In this work shown, a found lion sculpture has its most distinguished feature, its head with mane, obscured. In its place is an abstracted form, in fact a carved skateboard wheel. In making the juxtaposition, Paul teases us with our need to see the lion's head and invokes us to see the painstaking carving that's needed to carve the wheel 's plastic instead.
