Pidhirtsi Castle

Pidhirtsi Castle is located in the village of Pidhirtsi , Lviv region. It was built in the middle of the XVII century in the Renaissance style. The project of the castle was executed by renowned masters of their craft : the Italian architect Andrea del Aqua designed the palace, and the military engineer and cartographer Guillaume de Beauplan was responsible for the fortification. An interesting detail – the Atlanteans on the roof. One of them holds the Earth above his head, and the other – the universe.
