The Real Casa de Correos , in Puerta del Sol, is the seat of the Government of the Community of Madrid. Built in the second half of the 18th century, it is famous for its clock , from where the New Year's Eve chimes are broadcast. It is a building steeped in history, linked both to institutional power and to the popular tradition of Madrid .
