Rimonim (Torah finials)

1855

Jewish Museum Vienna
Vienna, Austria

Ludwig August Frankl, Viennese doctor, archivist, writer and revolutionary, travelled to Palestine and brought this pair of rimonim with him. It is assumed that Frankl had the dedication inscription added later in Vienna: "Sandalwood from Eretz Israel , brought by Doctor Abraham Elazar Frankl in 1856".
