The triton

The mosaicists in Conimbriga used in a singular way compositional motifs that belonged to more complex contexts as autonomous items, for example, from a naval triumph of Bacchus, they used only the figure of the triton carrying the banner, in a certain allusion to the city's contacts with maritime commerce.
