An extract from poet Sarah Jane Rees' (pseudonym, Cranogwen) compilation of works, 'Caniadau Cranogwen'. Rees had a varied and compelling life. In addition to her recognition as an established poet, she also spent time as a mariner, teacher, public speaker, editor, and activist.
