This work depicts a vigorous waterfall. Although most traditional paintings of waterfalls express water flow using only lines, Seiho skillfully depicted it with sumi gradation and fading. He was consistent in the realism, which is clear in the expression of water spray at the rocks and the water flow among rocks protruding from the stream. The contrast between the whiteness of the water and deep sumi black of the rock faces is extraordinary. The blue color added to the water further strengthens its clarity.
