The work was presented at the second exhibition of the “ Roman Secession” group in 1914 and subsequently acquired by the Accademia di San Luca using funds from the Müller endowment (which financed the acquisition of works that had been on show in Roman exhibitions). Mancini was elected accademico di merito on 29th June 1913.
