In the heart of Historic Jeddah, where old neighborhoods and roads intersect, stands Nassif Square, telling the story of a bygone era that echoes through the well-trodden alleyways and markets.

Located in Souk Al Alawi, Nassif Square is a vibrant junction that brings together the past and the present. It is surrounded by the neighboring districts of Harat Al Yaman and Harat Al Mazloum, and in close proximity to Souk Al Jami, Souk Qabel Street, and Souk Al Nouriya.

Nestled in the Yaman neighborhood, Bayt Nassif stands as an architectural masterpiece of historical significance.

This iconic residence is closely linked to the legacy of King Abdul Aziz Al Saud, who resided here during the early years of his rule after the conquest of Jeddah in 1925.

Constructed in 1865 by Sheikh Omar Nassif, the house is renowned for its distinctive design, featuring four floors, lofty ceilings, and wide staircases ingeniously crafted to accommodate camels ascending to the rooftop.

To the east, one may still find several shops owned by the Nassif family, leading to Al-Alawi Street.

Nassif Square has witnessed several pivotal events that shaped the history of the Hijaz region. Here, the people of Jeddah and its leading merchants welcomed King Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1925, who made Bayt Nassif his residence for a time, marking the area's significance.

Over the course of more than 150 years, the square has witnessed national and cultural celebrations, most notably the inscription of Historic Jeddah on the UNESCO World Heritage List in June 2014, an achievement that embodied Jeddah's global standing.
