GCalPlus

I have been using google calendar to run my business for nearly 2 decades. At some point 12-15 years ago, Calendar restricted the All Day Events section to just a tiny fraction of the screen, with no way to adjust. I just discovered this extension 15 minutes ago. Whoever wrote this app you are a god send! Thank you thank you thank you!

I searched and found this primarily for removing/blocking the mouse scroll changing the months in the calendar (so annoying and prone to making note/addition mistakes on events, etc). It seemed to install without issues, but then when clicking the extension icon the page would quickly refresh and the 'settings' pop out would disappear. I had the same problem as Sina Laura after the update. I tracked the issue down to this extension and then saw the developer's comment. I did the actions suggested and, bingo! It's working fine again. Thanks for the fix information. Chrome Version 135.0.7049.85 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Loved it! But after the latest update in March 25, it's buggy and keeps reloading, so I can't use google calendar properly anymore. I had to deactivate the extension! :( Hope it will work again eventually. Edit: Reinstalling worked! All good again, thank you! And the new feature (hovering over event shows description) is great!

There are many reasons that updating a Chrome extension can temporarily cause issues. Please uninstall it, reinstall it and click "Connect" top left to reset the permissions that GCalPlus needs to operate. When you've got it working again you'll find a lot of new features and I hope you'll reconsider your 2 star rating for problems that are out of my control :-)

WOW, the high visibility of colored background for repeating events like repeating work schedules vs single event air travel, medical appointments, family gatherings etc. is exactly what I've been craving ever since I started relying on google cal for saving appointments and planning the day! Hi Andrew, thank you for those kind words 🙏 I've just submitted a new update that should go live in a day or two, and I'll think you'll like it.... I've finally managed to fix a few long-standing issues, such as showing more events in Month view (it should work perfectly without ever needing to resize the window manually), the L/R arrows (which Google's updates broke, yet again...) and the big new feature that people have requested for ages: showing descriptions when you hover over events - and it even works for multiple calendars. So please look out for version 2.1.3 coming very soon!

I am just thrilled to not have months jumping around as I try to add events. Thank you!! It is remarkable that Google thought this would be a helpful feature and offers no way to turn it off. There are so many aspects of tools that we use daily that are similarly maddening. Hopefully, once AI is writing all the code instead of some kid who will never use the software and is long gone to another gig, we can get this kind of stuff fixed.

I love the ideas behind this extension, but it glitches in so many different ways that it's very unreliable. I just wish it worked better!

Hi Sarah, I wish it did too! Unfortunately the way Google Calendar works makes it incredibly difficult to modify anything in the page. Some content is continually refreshed behind the scenes so GCalPlus has to monitor the page to detect when Google updates it (thereby removing the changes GCalPlus had made) so it can reapply the changes... I've done my best to workaround these problems, but some things will always glitch. I decided to keep these options in anyway as they are useful, and you can work around most of them by avoiding using the browser's back/forward navigation buttons, and using the Show/Hide Bookmarks keyboard shortcut twice to force a screen redraw the window (for the unreliable "Show More Month Events" option)

Love how versatile it is but asa I authorise the extension the menu disappears when I click on it. It's there when I have not authorised it. Any chance to solve this issue?

Please get in touch by email for proper support at gcalplus@gcaltools.com. Have you already tried disabling other Chrome Extensions to see if there's a conflict?

The extension has been working wonderfully, but just recently the arrow keys stopped scrolling through my days/weeks/months/etc. I'm not entirely sure if it's an issue with the extension or something else, but it looks like the Google Calendar UI changes have been messing up some features. I'm writing this review to bring awareness of my issue!

Thanks for pointing this out. As you guessed Google have changed a lot of things recently and broken several options, including this one. I've just fixed the problem, but it might take a day or so for the update (v2.0.20) to become available (it'll update automatically). Meanwhile, thank you for your patience, and the 5 stars! ps While you are waiting for this fix to be released you can enable the built-in Google Calendar shortcuts in the online settings and use "p" for Previous and "n" for "Next".

I also love this extension but the "Multiply copy" button disappeared. Can you give a projected date on when this might be solved by? Otherwise I unfortunately have to look for a different solution. Thanks so much Neil!

Hi Dan, unfortunately this is out of my control as I can't fix it until I can access the new Google Calendar UI update... It's rolling out gradually at the moment so I expect it'll reach me in a few days, then the fix should be pretty quick. Sorry for the delay :/ UPDATE I've finally managed to access the new version and have submitted an updated version of GCalPlus (2.0.19). The new version should be approved quite soon and your browser should automatically update the Chrome Extension when it's available.
