Welcome, Women Techmakers
WTM + Technovation – Unlock AI Leadership, Global Networks, and Authentic Opportunities

We're glad you're here
You’ve built an incredible community and empowered thousands of women to lead, innovate, and transform technology along the way.
That mission doesn’t end with this transition, it expands. We’re bringing together two powerful communities that have already been intertwined for years, creating an even stronger force for change.
The integration of Women Techmakers with Technovation gives you direct pathways to world class Oxford credentials (2026), global mentorship opportunities, participation in AI Accelerators, and deeper connections to all of our industry partners.
Together, we’ll create a powerful ecosystem that will take you further than either community could alone.
Let’s build something amazing.
Sincerely,
Tara Chklovski

Frequently Asked Questions
Why was Technovation chosen for this?
The integration of Women Techmakers with Technovation creates continuous learning opportunities, supportive communities, and concrete pathways to employment in the AI era. This strategic partnership brings together two complementary global communities with over 12-15 years of development each, creating a seamless pathway from early tech education to professional leadership.
Technovation brings an engagement model requiring deep time investment that builds enduring connections between mentors and young women. This approach creates a lasting loyalty among participants, stemming from the tangible impact they see in young girls’ development and because their actions directly address systemic gender gaps in technology. Adding to Technovation’s contribution is its measurement framework—a competition structure with pre- and post-surveys that provide regular data on increase in confidence and competencies for mentors.
Finally, Technovation brings a diverse, global network of ~1000 companies who can provide rich technical learning and growth opportunities to WTM ambassadors.
What does Technovation do?
Technovation is a global nonprofit focused on making technology education more accessible and equitable. Through our technology entrepreneurship programs and curriculum, we equip a global community of learners with the skills, support, and agency to build technology solutions that solve real-world problems.
Over the course of a rigorous four-month curriculum, students work in teams–guided by a mentor—to identify a problem in their community and design a technology solution to address it. They tested their ideas with real users, refined their prototypes, and built a robust business plan to bring their solutions to market.
Over the past two decades, Technovation has reached more than 300,000 students across 160+ countries, supported by a global network of over 80,000 mentors and volunteers. Together, they have created nearly 21,000 startup ideas and solutions tackling challenges in healthcare, the environment, education, health and more. As a result of this experience mentors learn how to launch their mobile or AI startup.
Why was there a lack of communication?
The Google WTM team was determining the best long-term home for Women Techmakers, and both teams were finalizing the details of the transfer and community support. Now that the transition is complete, communication will resume regularly.
What will Technovation do to support WTM?
We are very interested in co-creating the support infrastructure and strategy with the community. That is why we have set up the Transition Advisory Council and the Q&A sessions—we want to hear directly from you about what you found valuable and how we can continue to provide that, while also growing and improving. Apply to join the Transition Advisory Council (apply by November 17, 5pm ET) and register to join a Q&A session on October 28 or November 7 .
What should WTM who have events planned in the near future do?
Please connect with the Technovation team to coordinate your plans and access the new WTM brand assets.
Do I need to reapply to be an Ambassador?
If you currently have Ambassador status with WTM, there’s no need to reapply. We do encourage you to download your data from Advocu before December 2025 to help Technovation confirm your existing Ambassadorship.
If you applied to become an Ambassador in 2025, unfortunately, we do not have access to those applications. We’ll share details about the 2026 Ambassador application process in Spring 2026.
Why did our content get deleted?
Much of the content featured Google employees or materials not legally owned by Technovation. To comply with legal and privacy requirements, that content had to be removed. Technovation will be working closely with the WTM community to create new content that features Women Techmakers.
Will there be funding for future WTM events?
Yes. A grant application process will be available through Technovation’s WTM newsletter .
What happened to the applications for events/travel funding that I submitted to Google?
Please contact the Technovation team ( [email protected] ) and share details about the event or travel request you submitted. We’ll do our best to review and advise on next steps.
Will my travel to events still be funded through WTM?
We are working on supporting travel and hope to provide some travel funding in the future. Please share more details about which events you are interested in through either the Q&A sessions (register to join us on October 28 or November 7 ) or via email ( [email protected] ) so that we can best organize support for everyone.
Will I have access to Google Developer programs, courses and events?
We are working on this and hope to provide access to continued technical learning courses, programs and events—not just offered by Google, but by other industry leaders as well. We are working with many Google Developer Group (GDG) Leads in the community to help us determine the best way to get you that access.
I’ve made deposits on a planned IWD event. Will I be reimbursed?
Please reach out to Technovation at [email protected] if you have already made deposits to discuss possible options.
