If you don’t want to get notifications for a specific conversation in Chat, you can mute it. When you mute a conversation, the conversation isn’t:
- Highlighted in your list of conversations
- Moved to the top of your list of conversations
- Shown in Home
A badge still shows next to conversations where someone mentions you. Learn more about mentions in Chat .
Mute or unmute a conversation
- On your computer, open Google Chat or Gmail .
- In your conversation list, on the right of a conversation, click More options Muteor Unmute.
