Google Ads promotional offers (also known as promotions) are offers given to advertisers to encourage them to start advertising or to try new features. These offers function as ad credit, they’re not cash back or refunds. When you meet the requirements of the offer, an eligibility check will be triggered for up to 35 days. If you’re eligible, the promotional credit will be applied to your account to cover future advertising costs.

How promotional offers work
Promotional offers are selectively distributed through marketing communications or the Promotions page for existing advertisers. Criteria for promotions varies, so review your offer for details on the spend requirement and the potential credit amount. You must meet all the qualifying requirements of the promotion to receive the credit. Check the specific terms and conditions when enrolling in your offer.
The lifecycle of a promotion typically looks like this:
- Redeem:The promotional offer is automatically applied to your account, however, in certain instances, you may be required to enter a promotional code.
- Qualify:You spend the required amount (for example, $500 USD) or complete an action within a specified timeframe.
- Process:After the spend requirement is met, the system processes the ad credit. This can take up to 35 days.
- Credit applied:If all the requirements are met, your status will be updated on the Promotions page and the credit will be active.
- Spend Credit:The credit is automatically applied to future ad spend until it runs out or expires.
