    Frequently asked questions

What browsers can I use Flow on?

For the best experience, we recommend using Flow on a desktop computer with a Chromium-based browser, such as Google Chrome.

While Flow may work on other browsers and mobile devices, they are not yet fully optimized. You may encounter bugs or unexpected behavior on unsupported browsers. We are working to improve the experience on other browsers and mobile devices.

I’m signed up for Pro/Ultra, but I can’t access my account.

Flow is not currently available in all countries where Google AI Pro is offered. Please note:

If you're in a supported region, reach out to Google One support.

    How do AI Credits work?
Why am I being charged credits if my generation failed?
Why did I get switched to a compatible model?
    • We offer two tiers of models (Fast, Quality), but some features only exist for certain models.
    • If we detect you’re trying to use a feature that is not available in your selection, we’ll default you to a compatible model.
    • You can check the model and related credit costs in settings before confirming.
Will my generations contain a watermark?
    • All outputs generated in Flow using Veo and Imagen include invisible SynthID watermarks. SynthID identifies AI-generated content by embedding digital watermarks directly into AI-generated content.
    • As an additional step to help people identify AI-generated content, videos generated by Google One Pro users will contain a visible watermark indicating the content was made with Veo.
    • Videos generated by Google One Ultra users will not contain this visible watermark.
Why do I see "You're requesting generations too quickly"?
    • To balance the available resources for all users and prevent abuse of our platform, we may rate-limit the number of generations you can make, particularly for zero-credit models.
    • After you've made a large number of generations in a day, the number of generations you can make within a minute will decrease.
    • We're constantly tuning these limits to try and offer the best experience possible within our constraints.
What are the Flow user policies?
    What is Flow TV?
    • Flow TV is an ever-growing showcase of clips, channels, and content generated with Google’s Veo generative model.

      • Hit the Home button to visit the channel guide or watch short films created using Flow, alongside other tools and techniques. All generations were created with Veo 2.
    • Flow TV does not collect your data. Find more details on Google policies in our privacy policy and terms of service .
    • Flow TV visuals were generated by filmmakers and creatives using a variety of techniques. Output will look different with every generation.
How do I join the Flow community?

I want more info about my data
For information about your user data and more, please check out labs.google/fx’s FAQ .
Why am I getting an "Audio Generation Failed" error?
    • Sometimes Veo can produce low-quality audio, in which case your video will not be generated. Instead, your credits will be refunded.
    • If you get this error, you can try again or try another prompt.

Best practices & advanced tips when generating in Flow

Get the most out of every generation with these tips:

    • Prepare clean ingredients

    • Avoid conflicting guidance
      • Your text prompt should complement, not contradict, your visual inputs.
      • Make sure your prompt references the frames or ingredients you've provided.
      • A consistent look and feel across all your ingredient images helps the model blend them more effectively.
    • Iterate with Gemini
      • As a Google AI subscriber, you have access to the most capable Gemini models.
      • Visit gemini.google.com to help brainstorm. Send Gemini your prompt, an image, or even a video and ask it to write you new prompts, riff on ideas, and more.

    Audio Generation

Important:This is an experimental feature only available on the Veo 3.1 model.

You can now add sound effects and background noise, as well as speech in some cases.

    • Add your guidance to the prompt itself. For example:
      • the sound of an ice cream truck can be heard in the background
      • the captain turns towards the ocean and says ”we set sail at daybreak!”
    • Sometimes Veo can produce low-quality audio, in which case your video will not be generated. Instead, your credits will be refunded. If you get this error, you can try again or try another prompt.
    • Speech generation performs better with longer text transcripts in your prompt.
    • We’re working on improving the following known issues:
      • Speech is currently muted on generations depicting minors.
      • Generated speech may incorrectly trigger on-screen subtitles.

Send us your feedback on this feature so we can iterate on it.

Your monthly free-of-charge credit refresh is triggered by your first generation.

    • For example, if you use your credits for the first time on August 12, your next 100 credits will become available on September 12.
    • If you don’t use the full 100 credits in a month, the unused credits don’t roll over.
    • If you upgrade to a paid subscription, any remaining free-of-charge credits are immediately forfeited. They will be replaced by the new monthly credit allocation from your plan.

How Google AI subscription credits refresh

    • AI Credits for your Google AI Pro or Ultra plan refresh at the start of your billing cycle.
    • Unused monthly credits do not roll over to the next month.

    Flow Nov 11, 2025 update

Introducing a better way to create and edit images in Flow!

Select “Create Image” from the prompt box to start generating images within a specific project. You can select between our Nano Banana and Imagen4 models for generating images in the prompt box. Generated images will live in the “Image” tab within a specific project, and can be edited on hover using Nano Banana.

Images (and all iterative edits) can also be added to the ingredients drawer and used as ingredients or frames when creating other images or videos. Simply use the “Add to Prompt” button on hover of images to add it to your prompt box and ingredients drawer.

    Flow July 7, 2025 update

Thank you for being a Flow user and for your continued feedback! We have plenty of new features to give you more speech and more generations.

You can now make your images talk with Veo 3

Veo 3 first-frame to video now supports speech. Upload a picture of your character and give them a voice. Note that audio is still a beta feature, so your videos might not always return sound.

Reminder: By using this feature, you confirm that you have the necessary rights to any content that you upload. Do not generate content that infringes on others’ intellectual property or privacy rights.

We’re adding a Veo 3 Fast option for Frames to Video

You loved Veo 3 - Fast Text to Video, so we’re excited to extend this option to Frames to Video as well. In both modes you can now select this faster and cheaper option to get more out of your credits.

    Pro subscribers can now top-up

You told us the gap between Pro and Ultra was too steep: we heard you. If you’ve run out of AI Credits before your monthly refresh, you can now simply navigate to your profile page in the top right corner and click “Add AI Credits” to purchase top-ups.

    Other improvements

    • Increased audio coverage when using Veo 3
    • Reduction in unwanted subtitles when using Veo 3
    • Various bugs and latency issues (more to come)

Thank you and keep feedback coming,

    The Flow Team.

    Flow June 9, 2025 update

Here’s a few things we’ve fixed and updated, and some best practices to get the most out of the tool. Please continue to leave us feedback anytime in the three dot menu!

    Veo 3

The excitement for our latest model, Veo 3, has been overwhelming! We’re excited to bring in a new Veo 3 - Fastoption for text to video that only costs 20 credits (1/5th of Veo 3-Quality).

    Please remember that:

    • Veo 3 - Qualityoffers text-to-video and first-frame to Video.
    • Veo 3 - Fastoffers text-to-video.
    • We’re working on bringing extend, first + last frame, ingredients to video and more to Veo 3 soon.
    • If you select one of these Veo 2 features we’ll suggest switching to the corresponding model.

Based on feedback we’ve also updated naming for legibility and consistency. “Veo 3 - Highest Quality” is now “Veo 3 - Quality”; “Experimental Audio” is now “Beta Audio”. They are the same underlying models.

    Audio availability

Audio is still an experimental feature , and available on Veo 3 only. We’re working on improving coverage but note that your generated videos might not always have sound. Things to know

    • Speech does better with slightly longer transcripts.
    • Speech is muted on minors.
    • Speech can trigger subtitles (we’re working on it).

    Bugs & Improvements

    • Thumbnails: fixed issues around previewing videos and missing thumbnails.
    • Scenebuilder:  sound support for Veo 3 clips, Veo 3 jump to, fixed some multi-clip behavior.
    • Upscaling: upscale to 1080p at no charge, fixed sound on Veo 3 upscales.
