How to fix: GTIN not related to brand

Use a globally valid GTIN that is related to the brand you submitted

Why this issue is happening

This issue occurs when the value you have submitted for the GTIN [gtin] attribute isn’t associated with the value you submitted for the brand [brand] attribute.

How to fix your issue

To fix this issue, make sure the brand [brand] attribute provided is correct, and it reflects the real manufacturer of the product. Then make sure that the GTIN [gtin] provided is the one provided in the product's packaging by the manufacturer.

Fix products one by one directly in Merchant Center

Step 1 Navigate to Productsin Merchant Center, then select the Needs attentiontab.

Step 2 Use the filter iconabove the table to find all products affected by your issue.

Step 3 Click on the title of the product you want to fix, then click Edit product.

Step 4 Make sure the brand [brand] attribute provided is correct, and you have entered the GTIN [gtin] attribute value that is provided by the manufacturer.

Step 5 Select Save.

Fix multiple products at once

Step 1 Navigate to Productsin Merchant Center, then select the Needs attentiontab.

Step 2 Use the filter iconabove the table to find all products affected by your issue.

Step 3 Select the downloadiconto download a list (.csv) of all affected products for all issues or this particular issue.

Step 4 Cross reference the downloaded list with your uploaded product data. Make sure the brand [brand] attribute provided is correct, and you have entered the GTIN [gtin] attribute value that is provided by the manufacturer.

Step 5 Reupload your corrected product data to Merchant Center using your chosen upload method.

Next steps

After making the requested changes, check that you’ve fixed the issue by making sure the issue is no longer listed on the “ Needs attention ” page.

Keep in mind: It may take 24-72 hours for your change to be reflected on the “ Needs attention ” page.
