Six Scents Two

We first learned of Henry Holland’s new perfume, Smell, back in August, when he said he hoped it would inspire “lots of sex.” As they say, sex smells—or something like that. Our interest piqued, we hoofed it to the launch of the second series of Six Scents at Weiss Gallery in the West Village. Hot (literally, the place was packed) and bothered (where was he?), we finally found Henry—who was also on hosting duty—lounging upstairs with a bevy of blondes. “It’s all about sense and memory,” he said, offering us his wrist as proof. “It’s fruity and…woody.”

Seven New York’s Joseph Quartana, who curated the collaboration, explained some of the changes from the initial series. “For Two, we decided to broaden the scope to include designers who I admire, but don’t necessarily buy,” he said, citing 3.1 Phillip Lim and Richard Nicoll, who round out Damir Doma, Henrik Vibskov and Toga. “It’s still about design, not celebrity,” he added. “I am not into cheap promo tactics. I believe in integrity.”
