The Many Iconic Faces of Kate Moss

Cementing her status at the top of the supermodel heap and extending a moment that began last year with her Vanity Fair cover, Kate Moss is the subject of an upcoming Christie’s auction in London. The sale, curated by art collector Gert Elfering, will showcase photographs, paintings, sculptures, collages and one tapestry featuring Kate the Great, in all her guises. Contributing artists include Mario Testino, Nick Knight, and Juergen Teller.

“Kate is the ultimate modern muse and we will be seeing her images in major museums and private collections for years to come,” Elfering told Vogue UK. “She has altered perceptions for women across the globe, encouraging them towards greater individuality and expressive freedom. There is so much you can learn from Kate – how you should always remain true to yourself, develop your own style, and emphasize your individuality.” A little over-the-top though that is, there’s no denying Kate’s enduring allure, even now as a mom closing in on 40.

The private auction will be held September 25, 2013 (public viewing is September 21 – 24), Christie’s, 8 King Street, St. James’s, London
