Torn denim, mesh tanks, moto details, leather fringe, all-over lacing, overalls, a bomber. All the cool tropes were there in Alexander Wang’s spring collection, his ten-year anniversary and his first show since suddenly parting ways with Balenciaga earlier this year (he appears to be unfazed).
He capped the show with a massive video supercut of his greatest moments, then capped it again with a bash of bashes, the kind he used to have, where Lil Wayne, Tinashe, and Ludacris performed. Meanwhile, back in the front row, it was Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blige, and so on. By this point, having been embedded in the pop-cultural Zeitgeist long ago, Wang is never not bathed in a scrim of celebrities.
