Britain Calling: Gucci Men’s Cruise 2017
On June 2, Alessandro Michele will present his anticipated cruise 2017 show for Gucci in London’s Westminster Abbey. Normally based in Florence, he seemed to be getting into the English spirit by shooting the men’s version at the Blow estate, as in Isabella Blow, throughout the interior and grounds.
As such, the collection merges Michele’s rich Italian regalia with quintessentially British tropes, e.g. bespoke, rowing, rugby, punk. That jumble, mixed among the pomp and circumstance of the aristocratic manor, makes for a decadently layered tapestry of colors, styles, and epochs.
