Channeling an overly festive spirit for spring, Thom Browne showed a blindingly saccharine, gobsmackingly sappy ode to joy, not unlike a Stephen Sondheim ditty — starting with a disco ball as a dog head worn as a hat.

Browne’s cheery checks and perky pastels — all jumbled together — were a lot to take in, especially on trompe l’oeil dresses made to looks like separate layers and pieces. It seemed nothing was as it seemed, but there was no denying the artistry on display.
