RIVERSIDE COUNTY results (again, probably primarily mail votes):

Keep Newsom - 54.4%
Remove Newsom - 45.6%

I had Newsom's benchmark at -12.48 percentage points here for the initial mail ballots, so this would be consistent with roughly a 21 point victory for him statewide.

Former Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado onstage now, saying he just talked to Larry Elder.

"Some TV stations are saying it's coming to an end. It's way too early. They just counted the mail ballots. They need to count the real ballots, from working people."

With 70% counted, total votes cast in:

Recall election: 9,137,428
("No" leads by 27.8 points)

Replacement election: 5,064,907
(GOP-affiliated candidates with 68.3% of vote, Dems 27.9%, Others 3.8%)

We've gone from an estimated 78% of ballots counted Friday morning to an estimated 85% right now, & Newsom's lead has remained exactly stable: 63.5%/36.5%, or +27%.

Newsom may still best the size of his landslide 2018 win, which was already biggest Dem win here in 100+ years.

Still, we do have a fairly good idea now of what's left to count, and as such, here's my current take on the final recall vote:
NOW: 63.5% against recall with 10.6M in
PROJ: 60% against with 2.45M left (REVISED)
FINAL PROJ: 62.8% against
