If you sign up for Amazon affiliate program to start affiliate marketing with amazon in Nigeria, you will be required to verify your identity by receiving a phone call and enter the PIN provided. This amazon verification process might be so frustrating especially if you are not a U.S citizen.
After I reopen my amazon associates account that was closed, I decided to open a new one since amazon won’t allow me to earn money anymore with the one that reopened. Verifying the new account was a nightmare. Whenever I try to verify it with my Nigerian phone number, it tells me an error occur and I should try again. After trying again several times, it will tell me to wait for about an hour before I can try again. This wasn’t funny at all.
I searched google, called some friends and finally found a solution when I asked my Facebook friends via a Facebook update . I was advised to get a USA phone number and use it for the amazon associates phone verification. Lots of mobile apps were recommended for this but I used TextPlus mobile app for Androidand it worked for me.
If you download textplus app and sign up a free account, you will be issued a free USA phone number. So, I signed up, got my U.S.A phone number, entered it on the amazon verification page, received the phone call on my glo number, entered the pin using my phone keypad and my account was verified.
That’s all.
Note : the previous contact or number you filled in on the first registration page may not be the one you use for the verification call: you can use different phone numbers.
