How To Generate Key Change Token

In this post, I want to share with you, how to generate key change token for your phcn prepaid meter in Nigeria, if you are a customer of kano electricity distribution company.

Kindly follow the steps below :

STEP 1- Open an internet browser and type http://customercare.kedco.ng to load the KEDCO Prepaid Customer Support portal.

STEP 2- Select (Key change token) from the complaints category dropdown

STEP 3- Enter your Name, Meter Number, E-mail Address, Mobile Phone number & Address

STEP 4- Click the Send Issue button to submit your request.

STEP 5 – Check your email inbox for two 20 Digits Key change Token sent as Key change 1 and Key change 2

STEP 6 – Enter the Key change 1 token on your prepaid meter and press the ENTER button. Do same for the Key change 1 token code.

Thereafter, you can proceed to recharging your KEDCO prepaid meter with the electricity token code you purchased to give you electricity units.

What is Key Change Token ?

It is a set of two 20 digits numbers (40 in all) needed whenever there is a need to reconfigure/change your prepaid meter’s tariff index.

About KEDCO

Kano Electricity Distribution Company is responsible for distributing electricity between three states which are Kano, Katsina and Jigawa.

Kano Electricity Distribution Company gets its bulk power supply from the following Transmission Stations :

  1. Kumbotso Transmission Station 4x150MVA, 330/132KV Transformer. Ex-Kaduna Regional Transmission Station.
  2. Zaria Town Transmission Station 1x60MVA, 132/33KV Transformer feeding Funtua Town in Katsina State.
  3. Jos Transmission Station 30MVA, 132/33KV Transformer feeding Tudun Wada and Doguwa Local Government Areas of Kano State via Saminaka 33KV feeder.

The bulk power supply from the Transmission Station is wheeled to a number of Sub-Transmission Stations located at different areas within the geographical area of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States. The Sub transmission station wheels power to various Distribution Injection Substations.
