The NITDA Scholarship 2019 portal is open for application and will be closed on the 21st of November 2019.
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), with its mandate of transforming Nigeria into an IT driven economy for global competitiveness and the dire need to bridge the digital divide, has since 2010 established a Scholarship Scheme for Masters (MSc) and Doctorate (PhD) Degrees in relevant areas of Information Technology (IT) obtainable in Nigerian (Government and Private) Universities.
As part of the Agency’s Scholarship Scheme for Masters and Doctoral degree programmes in relevant areas of Computer and Information Technology (IT) and IT Law, obtainable in Universities, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the NITDA Scholarship 2019/2020 scholarship scheme.
The NITDA scholarship scheme aims at promoting proficiency in Information Technology at Doctorate and Masters Levels.
The scholarship award is strictly based on merit and is evenly distributed between the six geo-political zones for the PhD, 36 States and FCT for MSc. The Scholarships are targeted at 2 persons per State of the Federal on including the FCT at masters’ level and 1 person per geo-political zone of the country at doctorate level. This will enhance human capacity building in core areas of Information Technology across Nigeria.
Eligibility/Requirements for NITDA Scholarship (Nigerians)
PhD:Only University and Polytechnic Lecturers with MSc in any Information Technology related field are eligible to apply for sponsorship.
MSc:Holders of First Class or Second Class (Upper) Honours Bachelor’s degree, in Information Technology related field and Law.
DurationThe sponsorship for the Masters programme will run for one year and the Doctorate programme for three years.
How To Apply for NITDA Scholarship 2019/2020
All eligible candidates that are interested should log on to the NITDA scholarship portal to register and submit all relevant documents.
Please note that a comprehensive computer-based Aptitude test will be conducted to determine successful candidates for the scholarships. Only candidates found eligible will be invited. Furthermore, there will be an interview (which includes supplementary test, verification of credentials & character evaluation) for best performing candidates.
The closing date for application is 21st of November 2019.
