　私は、「知らない英単語はない！」と豪語しています。
　豪語していると、不思議なことに、どんな英単語も簡単に覚えてしまうのです。

　今日は、私が出会った単語の中から、英米の知識人に一目置かれるような「知的な英単語」を選んで紹介します。

　【今日の単語】
　７月４日の英単語は、「fetish」。

　（例）She makes a fetish of organization - it's quite obsessive.

　最近は日本語としても使われますね。

　【前回の単語】
　ところで、６月３０日の「redundancy」（The declaration itself, though it may be chargeable with tautology or redundancy , is at least perfectly harmless.）

　いかがでしたか？

　redundancyの意味は、（表現の）冗長、余剰、
　excessive wordiness or repetition in expression、
という意味です。

　7月1日は、ダイアナの誕生日でした

　Active in many charities and causes（運動、主義）, she campaigned against the use of landmines and called attention to the plight（窮状）of AIDS victims at a time when the disease was largely misunderstood.
