Researchers believe that Earth may one day collide with Mars, or possibly Venus, catastrophically destroying the planets involved. Luckily, such an event is not predicted to happen for at least a few billion years, and even then, the chance of such a collision is relatively small. Researchers came to this conclusion after studying the orbits of planets in this Solar System and projecting how they will fluctuate over time. They computed 2,501 possible scenarios and found that 25 ended with a severely disrupted(崩壊した)Solar System.
