面接アポイント

昨今、面接のアポはFAXや郵送ではなく、メールでの受付に変更されました。

《面接アポ前のチェック項目》
１）婚約者ビザチェックリストに記載の必要書類を提出できる状態であること。
２）ビザが発給されるまで仕事をやめたり財産の処分をしないこと。また、払い戻すことができない旅行の手配をしないこと。
３）面接日に移民ビザを申請する意志があること。

面接予約をリクエストすると、休館日を除き5～14日以内に面接予約日が記載された予約通知がEメールで送付されます。

私の場合は、弁護士に書類チェックをすべて依頼していたため、出来上がった書類から随時FAXし（もしくは郵送)、出来上がる直前に面接のアポを入れました。

メール送信直後に確認した画面は…

Thank you for your message.
Now the information you entered has been sent.
Tokyo Embassy staff will respond soon.

という、シンプルなもの。。。

そして３日後、メールの返信が到着。(返信自体は早かった！)

We have scheduled an appointment for a visa interview in Visa section on the date printed below. When you enter the visa section on the interview day, please take a number and wait for your turn. Please present this letter when your number is called.
同書面にある日付でビザ面接のアポイントをお取りしました。面接日に査証課へ入る際は番号を持ち、順番が来るまでお待ち下さい。お名前が呼ばれましたら、この書面を提示下さい。

The waiting room in the Visa Section is very crowded and you can expect a wait of several hours. Please do not bring children who are not applying for visas (i.e. American citizen children) into the waiting room. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.
査証課の待合室は大変混み合います。数時間の待ち時間となります。ビザ申請者でないお子さま(すなわち、アメリカ国籍のお子さま)は、待合室にはお入りになれません。ご理解とご協力をお願い致します。

Application Fee for Fiance(e) Visa Applicants
Each K1/K2 visa applicant, regardless of age, needs to pay a $131 application fee. Please pay the fee at the Consular Cashier on the day of the interview. The application fee is payable in US dollars or Yen in cash only. The application fee is non-refundable, even if the applicant is found ineligible to receive a visa.
K1/K2ビザ申請者は年齢に関わらず、申請に131ドルが必要です。面接日当日、相談窓口にて現金にてお支払い下さい。申請費用はドルまたは円、現金のみとなります。ビザの受け取りに際し、不適格が認められても、申請費用は返金は致しません。

Application Form DS-156
Form DS-156 must be filled out online. Handwritten and typed forms will not be accepted. Please complete this form online and make an extra copy (xeroxed copy). On the day of your interview, please submit two copies.

Important notice
Effective January 1, 2008, the application fee for a U.S. non-immigrant visa will increase from $100 to $131. This increase allows the State Department to recover the costs of security and other enhancements to the non-immigrant visa application process.
2008年1月1日より、非移民ビザの申請料金が100ドルから131ドルに上がりました。この値上げはアメリカ移民局の非移民ビザ申請処理のためのセキュリテイおよび促進費用に充てられます。

To Change an Appointment
If you need to change your appointment, please go to our website at http://japan.usembassy.gov/e/visa/tvisa-ivapptrequest.html and indicate that you are changing an existing appointment in the “Remarks” box. We will send a new appointment by email.
ビザ面接日の変更
面接の日程を変更したい場合は、以下のウェブサイトより行なってください。

私の場合、メールを出して３日後には返信があり、面接日が確定しました。以前のシステムのように、FAXか郵送ではない分、早く返事が頂ける点はよかったです。
しかし、アポから面接日までには、およそ１ヶ月。やはり面接までの待機期間は以前と変わらず、長いようです。。
