がん細胞が生まれたら我々の体の中にある免疫細胞だけがそのがん細胞を殺すことが出来る。しかしがん細胞は我々の免疫システムを働かせなくさせるＰＤ－１という物質を作って自分たちを攻撃させないようにする。それで我々はがん細胞を殺すことが出来なくて彼らに打ち負かされて滅びていた。
日本人医師　本蔗　佑氏（京大）は我々の免疫システムをゼロにしてしまう物質ＰＤ－１を発見した。PD-1に結合してＰＤ－１の働きを奪ってしまう薬が生産されてがん患者さんに使われている。その薬の名前はオプジーボだ。今はまだすごく高価だが重症がん患者さんが多く救われている。ＰＤ－１の発見者本蔗　佑氏はノーベル賞の有力候補である。今夜それが発表されるが彼がその賞を取ってくれるよう願っている。

But the cancer cell makes a substance named PD-1 to stop the activity of our immune system.
So we can’t kill the cancer cells and beaten by them.
Japanese doctor Tasuku Honjo (Kyoto University) discovered the substance PD-1 which is able to nullify our immune system.
The medicine to combine the PD-1 and to rob the function of the PD-1 is manufactured and used for cancer patients.
The name of the medicine is Opdivo.
It is still very expensive, but many severe patients are recovered.
