ってか私が忘れないように復習をかねてます。(笑)


■turn a deaf ear: 耳を貸さない

In the party, a man try to pick me up so I turned a deaf ear.

■set someone's teeth on edge: 歯が浮く。イライラさせる。

Her compliment has set my teeth on edge.

■above my head :難しすぎて理解できない。

Her lecture is above my head.

■learn something by heart:~を暗記する。

I have to learn vocabulary by heart.

■give a hand with:手助けする

I'm going to give a hand with charity.

■up to the eyeballs in :忙殺される、はまりこむ

I'm up to my eyeballs in work.

■put my(one's) foot in my(one's) mouth :不謹慎なことを言う⇔smooth talker :口先のうまい

He asked my age! He put his foot in his mouth.

■get it of one's chest:

If you have a problem you should get it of your chest.

■play it by ear:臨機応変にやる

I'll just have to play it by ear.

■a shoulder to cry on:悩みを聞いてくれる人

I have a friend who is a shoulder to cry on.
