Liverette? Liverenne? What a heck, we simply love livers!

'Cause I'm talking about liver of goosefish/angler cooked in oil and soup, kinda like your ordinary tuna-can. Freshly boiled green soybeans on the side and ah, sweet sweet sake (in this case, it's not sugar-sweet, I'm sugar-phobic!).

Ever boiled liver yourself? Put it in a pot, add equal amount of water, white wine, and vegetable oil to cover the liver, and put it on low heat and cook until most of water and wine evaporate. Add pepper/herb of your choice, cool it to room temp, cover the pot, leave it overnight in the fridge, and it'll be ready in the next morning. (it'll be good for 1 week!)

When you serve, chop it into smaller pieces. It's really good as is, but if you are concerned over cholesterol, add some sour cream and a bit of salt/herb to make liver paste, spread it on crisp bread of some sort, and it'll be just as yummy! Doesn't sound good? But I assure you it'll taste heck of a lot better and healthier than the dude's brain Hannibal served at the end of "Hannibal".

Okay, you still feel like Clarice? How 'bout some green soy beans then? No, not edamame. They come in pods. What I mean is soybeans without pods and they are dry. You have to soak it in the water and leave it overnight but I tell you it's worth the wait because you can cook it just as you like it. You can cook it until it's really soft and mushy like "his liver" or crisp as eyeball...okay, I'm grossing you out, I'll stop! Anyway, if you can get your hands on dried green soybeans, soak it in the water overnight, boil that thang until tender, add some salt, drain well, and serve steamin' hot!

I promise it's better than frozen edamame that come in pods, and I'm so addicted I'm boiling this stuff every day! I swear, I eat half the beans I boiled out of strainer before I serve, it’s THAT good!

NOTE: Megumi-kun taught me how to fix both of the stuff, so all the credits go to her and mistake is all mine (including Hannibal reference).
