このコーナーでは、「実用英単語」を選んで紹介しています。
「英検１級」レベルから選んでいます。
「英語」は「単語」です。
知っている単語は、聞けます、話せます。
どうせ覚えるなら、「英検1級」レベルの単語を覚えましょう。
世界が広がります。
１月１０日の英単語は、「scrupulous」。
（例）The nurse told him to be scrupulous (= extremely careful) about keeping the wound clean.

身長と心臓病の関係
A new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine found that men who shrink in height by about an inch or more over 20 years have a greater risk of heart disease and are more likely to die earlier than other men.
The study monitored subjects between 1978 and 1980 and then evaluated them up 20 years later when they were in their 60s and 70s.
The findings suggest men should exercise to maintain the muscle strength needed to stand tall.
