miscarryは「(計画などが)失敗する」。aimは目的。harborはハーバーで港。 making for、知らないとやっかいなところです。「進む」という意味です。 right windは、ここまでをスラスラ訳せたなら「順風」と一発でしょうね。 ちなみに順風を和英で見ると、favorable wind, fair wind でした。

merelyは「~にすぎない」。(only より形式ばった語) deferredは「据え置きの」。 形容詞が名詞のあとにきているのは謎です。 Hope deferred makes the heart sick. という聖書の箴言もあります。

the last judgmentは「最後の審判」です。「命の書」(the book of life)に基づいて天国か地獄かの、神の裁きをうけるときです。限定的であれば"Last Judgment"と大文字で記します。
