During the summer, I was completely worn down by the relentless heat and had no energy whatsoever for strolling around Tokyo. Then came the three-day weekend from September 13 to 15. The forecast for the first day called for rain and temperatures hovering around 30°C, so I seized the chance to head out with my family to Yokohama in the evening.
We wandered through Chinatown and ducked into a cheap all-you-can-eat place we found at random (can’t remember the name, no photos either) for an early dinner. Afterwards, we had planned to walk from Yamashita Park to the Red Brick Warehouse and then on to Bashamichi, but unfortunately the rain picked up and we had to cut the outing short.
I’m not all that familiar with Yokohama, but it’s less than an hour away from my place on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. Once autumn deepens, I’d like to go back and stroll around Minato Mirai and the Bashamichi area again. By the way, the restaurant we went to in Chinatown offered good value for money, though—just as I’ve often experienced there—the staff’s attitude left something to be desired.
