I would like to begin with one of my favorite poems its’ from a poet called Rumi who lived in the 13 century A.D..In this poem he’s describing about divine love and how someone in charge would give up all his power, if he caught just one whiff of love, and how a person would try to dig a hole through a mountain or flee from academic honors and how all life would freeze over if this love were not possible. Now at the end part of this particular verse.
He says; “God picks up the reed flute world and blows, each note is a need coming through one of us, a passion, a longing pain. Remember the lips where the wind~breath originated, and let your note be clear, don’t try to end it. Be your note, I’ll show you how it’s enough .Go up on the roof at night in this city of the soul. Let everyone climb on his or her roofs and sing their notes! Sing Loud”. (excerpts from The Essential Rumi)
I enjoy reading, and many books can be inspirational for me and that I can learn something from them, as I had mentioned earlier about how this life is a learning school and there is so much to learn and understand, books although they’re a wonderful source of inspiration, specially reading mystic poetry etcetera, but it’s a bit like watching a TV show on cooking, I can see delicious food being prepared and can even imagine what it could taste like and my mouth would salivate, but there is no way it can be eaten, so like wise I need to eat food for myself to be really satisfied, just looking at food isn’t enough it wont satisfy me.
