「最も豊かな支配者１０人」という世界各国の君主・指導者版「長者番付」を掲載した。以下にいつものように紹介する。

“世界の支配者”のなかで最もリッチだとして１位に選ばれたのはサウジアラビアのアブドラ国王で総資産は２１０億ドル（約２兆３２００億円）。同誌が３月に発表した「世界の長者番付」ではアルワリード・ビン・タラール王子が資産２００億ドルで８位にランクされていたので、アブドラ国王の資産は王子と同規模ということになる。そして、サウジアラビアの国王と王子の資産を合わせても５００億ドルの資産を持つとされたビル・ゲイツには届かない、と。英国エリザベス女王は５億ドルで９位にランクされてる。フォーブスがどう総資産を計算してるのか分からないが、この数字を信じるなら、英国女王は以前、ビル・ゲイツにナイトの爵位を与えているので、女王の資産はナイトの１％、ナイトが女王の１００倍の資産を持っていることになる。

Under King Fahd, it was said that there was almost no distinction between the royal treasury and that of the state. Many Saudis are hoping King Abdullah, who once lived with Bedouin tribes, will be a reformist and spread the wealth more. Abdullah is an avid horseman who breeds Arabian horses.

サウジ国王が「支配者」で１番リッチ・米誌が特集

米経済誌フォーブスは16日までに「最も豊かな支配者10人」を特集、世界最大の産油国サウジアラビアのアブドラ国王が総資産210億ドル（約2兆3200億円）で１位となった。「主に相続や権力掌握による富」を手にした王族や独裁者をリストアップした。

キューバ・カストロ議長“富豪”報道に激怒

アメリカの経済誌「フォーブス」は世界の金持ち指導者ランキングでキューバのカストロ国家評議会議長が第７位であると報じ、これを受けカストロ議長は１５日、テレビの特別番組で４時間半にわたって激しく反論した。

フォーブスは、カストロ議長の資産は約９９０億円で、スイスに隠し資産のうわさもあるとしているが、カストロ議長は「自分の月給は４４００円で、報道が本当なら辞任する」としている。
