さいたま市の見沼代用水東縁に龍がいました。龍神マルコです。マルコはエスペラント語で湿地を意味していて、湿地を守る神様ということです。
川口市からさいたま市の見沼代用水周辺には、龍にまつわる伝承がいくつもあります。龍神マルコの近くにある国昌寺（さいたま市緑区）には、龍が閉じ込められていますし、氷川女體神社（さいたま市緑区）内にある見沼竜神社では、龍が祀られています。
Cherry trees are in full bloom in Minuma area in Saitama City.
There have been lots of dragon legends in Minuma since early times,because dragons are thought to be deeply related to water.

On the Gate of the Kokushoji Temple, you will find a ranma (openwork screen fanlight or transom) carved with a dragon figure. This dragon figure is said to have been carved by the so called "master-hand engraver HIDARI Jingoro" in order to contain the raging dragon. After the dragon figure was displayed, the dragon became docile. One day, however, when a funeral procession went through the gate, the body in the casket disappeared. People got so upset and consumed with the idea that the dragon had eaten the body that they bolted the gate shut. The gate has been closed since "akazunomon (never-opened gate)".
