I have been busy since my return from Japan.That is why I didn’t have time to update my blog.We finally got a new car!It was hard for us with only one car at home.I had to drive John to and from the airports.We have to go “everywhere” together.We bought Subaru IMPREZA Sport Wagon.It is AWD and almost same price (after the deep discount) as Honda Civic.It’s made in Japan and about 6K more expensive than those in Japan.Don’t tell my Mom that.She would say,” Why don’t buy it in Japan and ship to USA?”(One time she tried to ship me a used Audi which her handyman didn’t want to keep any longer. I told her that it’s not worth to do so. However she had to bring that topic up to me for a few months.)I don’t think the shipment cost would be cheaper than 6K.Besides that if you buy a car in Japan, the steering wheel is on the right side of the car which is the wrong side in the USA.The best part of IMPREZA is AWD.The exterior is cute. It’s not an old style wagon.It’s more like hatchback.I love the color; Newport Blue Pearl.The interior is VERY simple. It’s so plain; there is no “reading head light”!We cannot believe that a car costs 20K doesn’t even have a reading light!!I guess we can live without it.(We will “install” a portable reading light: a flash light!) We are done with car shopping for now (until next time…),now we have to focus on new mattress sets.We went to few shops, got on to few mattresses, and try to find the right one for us.That is a harder task than choosing a car.We thought the “Sleep Number” was a best choice.While I was lay down on the mattress, the saleswoman changed the hardness on the mattress; that caused the bed mattress to bubble up & down depending on pressure points.I started feeling my right upper thigh getting uncomfortable.I felt that I’m getting sick.I vomited and had an upper stomach pain the WHOLE night.I think the “up and down” motion touched my Fibromyalgia tender point in a bad way that triggered my upset stomach. I read the mattress reviews on the internet.It seems that you won’t know which mattress would work for you till you sleep on it for a few months.Duke and Duchess are lucky; they can sleep on any kinds of surface.Oh, even though I had a bad night before, I won my first tennis match in 2007!!I wish I can win all the matches this year.Yes, I wish that I can play like Federer!!! Oh, wait. That’s not fun.No one can beat me and I would play for the money. That’s not I want. hahaha...お久しぶりです。日本から戻ってきて忙しい毎日を過ごしています。実は里帰り前の１２月から新車を捜していました。我が家には車が三台あるのですが　一台は次女のリサ、もう一台は三女のエミが使っているので　この一ヶ月ほど　一台を私とジョンが共用していました。この片田舎では車なしでは何処にも行けないし、二人で一台では　かなりキツイ状況。それに　この夏、ケイが免許を取ったら車を運転する事になります。どうしても　二台は必要です。ケイの為にも小回りが効く車を　色々ネットで情報を得ていたのですが　やっと昨日スバル・インプレッサ スポーツワゴンが　我が家の車庫に収まることになりました。日本ではホンダ・シビックよりずっと安いらしいですが　アメリカでは　シビックより少々高め。ディラーで「シビックの値段まで下げてくれないならシビックを買うつもりだ」と言ったら　かなり値下げしてくれました。)それでも　税金・登記料を含むと２万ドル以上になるのですよ～。日本の母に言うと「日本で買ってアメリカに送れば～？」と言われそうです。実際、昔　知り合いの中古のアウディーをアメリカに送ってくると煩く言っていた事があるのですよね～。私達にはシビック(アメリカ製)の値段で日本製のAWDの車が買えるというのが一番の魅力でした。やはり　同じ会社の製品でも日本製の方が絶対に良質と言うのがアメリカでの常識です。去年、エミに買ったシビックと比べると内装はかなり質素。本当に何も無し。今時　２万ドル以上するのにマップライトが付いていない車が存在するとは信じられません。でも外観は他のワゴン車よりスマートで　色はケイが大好きな青。とっても素敵なブルーです。さて　新車選びの’問題‘は終わりましたが　次なる問題。マットレス選び。私の持病、リュウマチと線維筋痛症には身体に適したマットレスに寝る事が他の人以上に重要らしいです。そこで先週末もマットレスを’試乗’に行きました。でも数分マットレスの上に寝てみても　実際に数時間寝るのとは違いますよね～。何軒もの店を回って　スリープ・ナンバーというマットレスを買うことにしました。これは　内部空気圧力を自動制御するベッドで自分の好きな硬さに　好きな時にコントロールが出来るというのがセールス・ポイントです。私とジョンがマットレスに横たわって　販売員がリモコンでマットレスの硬さを強くしたり弱くしたりしている間に　私の太股の上部に疼痛症状が現れ　気分が悪くなってしまいました。次第に冷や汗が出てくるほど悪寒・胸焼けのような不快感がしてきてその後も不快感は治まらず　夕食時も食欲が無かったです。そして一晩中　嘔吐と腹痛に悩まされました。多分、線維筋痛症の疼痛点が刺激されたのが原因だと思います。結局　翌日　マットレスのオーダーをキャンセル。又　マットレス探しの始まりです。どんな所でも眠れるDukeとDuchが羨ましいです。この‘腹痛騒動’の翌日　日中　横になっていて夜8時半から6週間ぶりに　テニスチームの試合に出ました。初めて一緒に組んだダブルスのパートナーとは　思ったより相性が良かったようで比較的簡単に勝ちました。この調子で今年　全試合　勝てれば良いのですがね～～。
