and we just window shop. Today we are going shopping this afternoon to buy, which is unusual. But we aren't going shopping to buy for ourselves. We are going shopping for winter greeting gifts. Because of hiroro's job and he is working in a field of job where manners are very important, we can't just let it slide by. I guess we'll also look for our christmas presents, too. I won't be able to bear it, if there's nothing to look forward to,too.
The whole Japanese tradition of giving winter gifts, summer gifts, money for funerals, weddings, graduations etc., makes life very expensive in this country. I wonder how long these traditions can continue when the economy still isn't strong...

You are so right!! It's too expensive!! to live in Japan. The health insurance had gone up, the taxes are going to be raised soon, too. It makes us cry because no matter how hard we work, it's taken away by the nation. I hope these traditions will be put to end, too. (2005.11.19 20:02:12)
