1. At most of the track-and-field competitions -including World Championships and Olympic game, both MEN and WOMEN run the same route and course and distance at marathon, don't they?
So at competitive walking.
The 50-kilometer competitive walking is for men only, though.
Therefore, at the upcoming Olympic game, if they hold race of men and women at once, those races could finish at once.
For local residents, it means shorter time of traffic ban and guard.
Of course, time and ranking are recorded by gender.
Or women runners and walkers could make a start 30 minutes later or so after men's start.
I'm not saying a nonsense that they should hold all the road races at once even if the same course is used at both marathon and competitive walking, though -just like a caricaturist Hisaichi Ishii's comic of my favorite, simply because athletes and reporters and referees confuse.
2. Until last year, yesterday December 23 was a national holiday.
-At least, members of the choir of the local church did, so did my Husband, though:
He is a Christian and a member of the choir of the local church he belongs to for about decade, and this Holiday was precious for rehearsal before Christmas worship service on December 24 .
According to Bible,
After Jesus the child was born in Bethlehem, three Wise Men from the East visited Herod the King in Jerusalem, and asked about the baby who had been born king of the Jews.
Herod had chief priests and scribes of the people inquire where Christ was born, secretly plotting assassination.
And told three Wise Men to search for the child and bring him word.
The star guided three Wise Men, and they had an audience with Jesus the child and Mary the mother.
But they were warned in a dream not to return to Herod, so they departed to their own country by another way.
Later, Herod found that he had been tricked by three Wise Men and got furious, and he sent and killed all the boys two years old or under in his region.
But before that, an angel of the Lord warned Joseph that Herod was about to search Jesus the child to destroy him.
So Joseph took Mary and Jesus and fled to Egypt as he was told, and the family was safe.
-Every time I listen to this story, I cannot help wondering why those Angels and Holy Spirits didn't or couldn't prevent Herod's outrage, while I don't think they were unaware about Herod's brutality.
For example, they could have warned three Wise Men not to inform Herod about the birth of New King of Jews.
Husband showed understanding of this question, but at the same time, he called it as buck-passing onto religion by people .
3. In our country, December and early January are supposed to be a season of year-end and new year's parties .
On advertisements about cashing characters appear who complain that they are broke after frequent drinking parties, or monetary handsels costed a lot due to numbers of wedding ceremonies they were invited to, and Advertisers encourage to use their loan service for solution.
I imagine that if there are people who go into debt for such reasons like those characters on those ads, they must be just too casual about money or naive or vain.
- If they are afraid to be despised by others and unable to resist reluctant invitations, they must solve this problem in order to prevent various loss including financial loss,
And recently, more and more couples don't receive monetary handsels from guests at wedding ceremonies , neither did we -which are another story for today.
Besides, I have no drinking companions and habit to go for drinks regularly after I had psychotic depression -that might be how I've managed to make ends meet while I enjoy what I want to do and go to live concerts of my favorite musicians.
