I love horses. I want to be a pony camp counselor. That is my dream.
Staying in the countryside, playing with children, and riding horses, all year long. What a happy job it is!
I often attend pony camp in Nagano to see my friends, my horses and my counselors. Over there we have to learn so many things, such as, how to keep the stable clean, how to groom the horses, and of course, how to ride a horse.
But the most important thing is, how to be independent. We have to do everything all by ourselves. And at every moment some grownups are along with us. They are the pony camp counselors.
They are respectable people. Yes, their task is not always easy and it is a really hard job.
The boys are always running around. The girls never stop talking, though. Anytime, anywhere they keep a smile on their faces.
They are always joyful, positive, and give us some comfort. How wonderful it would be to be a pony camp counselor!
Sometimes, Unhappy children, Lonely children, or Sad children would come.
But the counselors would love them anyway and always say, “Join us!”
Actually I was one of those children who lacked confidence. I didn’t know what I could do. I didn’t think I had a friend. I didn’t believe someone cared about me. Until I met my counselors.
They said nothing, they just stayed with me. They asked nothing, they just made me laugh. They did nothing, they just listened to me.
It helped me a lot. My smile was back on my face. Now I have many friends who are waiting for me. So I hop on the bus and head there. Someday I want to stay with a child who can’t believe in himself and I will say to him, “Join us!” Just as my counselors did to me.
I want to be a pony camp counselor. That is my dream.
