Unfortunately I cannot type Japanese characters due to the PC problems today. Hope I can sort it out by tomorrow :-)
Anyway, I flew from Cairns to Sydney in this late morning. I don't like this airport because it is neither well-designed nor user-friendly. Especially I hate the Sydney international airport (Domestic is OK compared to international...)
Firstly, the airport staffs in Sydney are not as friendly as other Australian ports. They do not smile much, and always look tired, overwhelmed by the amount of works. Probably understaffed?
In the custom declaration line, I always see the mess. Although too many people waiting but the processing speed is very slow. Plus, it always look packed because there are no much spaces.
My another complaint is, the ridiculous cost of the airport facilities, transport etc. Everything costs too much! For example, the train from the airport to Central station is only 10 km apart but it costs the massive 11 dollars. Furthermore, airport shuttles from Domestic and International airport costs $4.50 but I think they should provide free services, as many of world top airports do.
In Sydney international airport, the availability of reasonably priced public transport is very limited. Out of many hundreds of Sydney bus routes, only one (route 400) travels to this airport from Burwood and Bondi Junction. The parking fee is ridiculously high, $6.00 for only 30 minutes !!! Airport trolleys cost $2.00 and the taxis travelling from Sydney airport charges extra $2.00.
Sydney is a lovely city but its airport still have tons of things to improve.
