Steve Howe quits Asia

Confirmed. If you would, read the first release about outgoing Steve, then next release, which will be on the main page of this website at 3p.m.GMT today. This will tell you what we (Asia, the band) are doing. There's no animosity, we wish Steve all the very best, as I hope he does for us.

There was always a possibility that, if two major band commitments got too much, Steve would go the way of his first love, i.e. Yes. I'm not saying that's what happened, because only Steve knows in his heart, but I'm as close to this as anyone, and I would say this is true. So, whatever the facts, we move on, and personally, I look forward to shaking up the sticks a bit. It always causes a creative stimulus. There genuinely is no bad blood, and it was terribly unfortunate that Carl became ill, and unable to perform what would have been Steve's swansong. That is life, destiny, kismet. It was not to be. Let's appreciate what we have today.Carpe diem.There's a big, beautiful world out there.
