Korea concluded FTA with US the other day.
Japanese industry is going to be threatened in the future as many economists and poticians fear.
In Korea it had been a controversial agenda as well.
Most farmers opposed the agreement strongly.
They worried about cheap agricultural products dammaging their lives.
However, the reality is that many farmers welcome the FTA.
Fist of all, Korean government persuaded US to exclude the import of foreign rice crop.
Secondly, farmers were encouraged to grow commercial crop such as peppers.
Now farmers in Korea have found farming profitable.
Why can't Japanese government promote its farming toward profitable industry?
Helping individual farmers will surely result in their decline in the long run.
