今年の大和川流域の社会実験（今年は1か月間と昨年までの1週間から期間が延長されましたので、 「強化月間」
と呼んでいます）の 結果概要
が発表になりました。要点を抜粋します。
(1) 強化月間 への参加人数は約85万人（アンケート調査結果より：参加率39.7%）で、参加率は昨年の社会実験より少し増加。
(2) 水質改善効果は、調査した10地点の内8地点でBOD値が低下。
(3) 大和川本川の最下流ではBOD負荷量（汚れの量）が約14％低下。
参加率が昨年より微増、最下流のBOD負荷量（大阪湾に流入する有機物の汚れの量と考えていただいて結構だと思います）が、昨年は社会実験により8%削減されたのが、今年は14%削減と、社会実験の効果が増加した。
流域の皆様、お疲れ様でした。
A brief result the Social Experiment Programme , participation rates and river water quality improvement has been released.
The Social Experiment Programme in the Yamato-gawa River basin this year is called 'Implementation Month' because the event period was extended from one week until last year to one month this year. Major results announced in the River Office website were:
(1) Participation rate was 39.7%, slight increase from last year, which means 850 thousands citizens in the river basin have participated in the event this year, 2011.
(2) BOD concentration decreased at eight monitoring points in 10 monitoring points.
(3) BOD load at the nearest monitoring point to the river mouth decreased 14%.
Slight increase of the participation rate and BOD load decrease near the river mouth showed increase the effects of the Social Experiment Programme or Implementation Month.
