Misako Odani's first three albums are based on her self-accompaniment with the piano.
This is her third work. The vocal and piano were recorded at the same time, and other instruments were added later.
'Hinokawa(fire river)' is a quiet but powerful number. It hides energy that can burn up everything, as the title shows.
Her songs sound sometimes delicate and sometimes emotional. And always straight and resolute.
She has written many social message songs. So she is often considered as a statement singer to society.
For example, 'Watashi-wo kaeshite(return my self)' is asking us which is stronger, money or love. 'Hahanohi(Mother's Day)' is sung to people who killed themselves.
At the same time, she has written innocent love songs, too; such as 'Ookami(wolf)' and 'Hidarite(left hand)'
After this work, she has experienced bands and trio. Yet, her songs are always straight and resolute.

「火の川｣は静かながらパワフルなナンバー。その題のとおり、全てを焼き尽くすばかりの気迫を秘めています。
小谷の歌は時に繊細で時にエモーショナル、そして常に真っ直ぐで毅然としています。
社会的なメッセージソングを多く書いてきたため、メッセージソングの歌い手と思われることも多い。
例えば「わたしを返して」は、お金と愛のどちらが強いかを問いかけており、「母の日」は自殺した人に向けて歌っています。
