原種のシクラメンの花が咲きました。Flowers of original species of Cyclamen have come out.
とても小さくてかわいらしい花です。２cm×２cmに足らないくらいで、奥行きも１cmほど。Very tiny and really sweet. The size is less than 2cm×2cm with the depth of about 1cm or so.
花によって少し表情が違うような・・？ Each flower has a slightly different expression...?
葉はまぁるいハート形♪ The leaves are round heart-shaped♪
つぼみがあるので、しばらく楽しめそうです。We are happy to see some more buds to open.
その昔、キプロス島から原種をイギリスに持ち帰ったのが、シクラメン栽培の始まりだそうです。「シクラメン」という名前はギリシャ語で「円」を意味する「kyklos」に由来し、受粉の後に花柄が螺旋型に巻くところから名付けられたそうです。

旨く水の管理をすれば２－３年は年中花を
楽しめますよね

我が家でも初体験のシクラメン原種ですが、とっても静かにブームみたいです。
鹿児島からの梅便り、ありがとうございました。本当に真っ盛りですね。こちらでも咲いていますが、まだまだ満開には遠そうです。 (2010年02月12日 15時38分27秒)
