On Oct. 28th, I went to a factory in Tagawa in the morning where I teach English to its workers every Sunday morning. They had made a company trip for two days till last Saturday. I talked with them in English about their trip to Kagoshima. After the lesson, I got directly to Kotake where I had another English lesson with a student of mine. In the evening I went to Shonai to teach English to a high school student. The student in Kotake is an expert of science and math, so this day, I introduced this young man to a brother of the high school girl.
I had been asked by their mother to introduce the young man to the brother who sometimes failed to understand the basic of math. Then, this young man came to their house in Shonai to meet with the brother. I'm happy that my students and their families can develop their relationships mutually.[ken]
◎April 11th :I had almost fight with a sales person this day. I managed to control myself. He was a major paper distributor, asking me to renew the contract. But he was very rude in his way of talking. I advised him to be more polite toward his customers. He got mad and talked back to me. We had a harsh argument for a while. If I'd had a violent fight with him, I could've beat him severely, but I also would've got arrested by the authority. Oops!
◎April 13th :Though our calendar isn't a lunar one, April 13th is the day when Musashi and Ganryu had an appointed duel on 船島, about 1km off 門司 and 下関. Some reliable historical references have suggested that this duel was a plot of Hosokawa Clan(藩) to murder Ganryu. Musashi beat Ganryu and left there right away. Ganryu was still alive after the duel. Then, several samurais, hiding in the bush, came out and finished him off. 船島 was named 巌流島 after the name of his school(流派名). (Ken's Office)
